The present work addresses the relationship between sign and interpretation. The author begins the text by alluding to Lacan’s return to Freud, a moment in which, supported by structuralism, with its references within linguistics (F. de Saussure, Roman Jakobson, Charles Peirce) and anthropology (Claude Lévi-Strauss), he reformulates the notion of subject. This constitutes for the author a clinical revolution; later he points out (taking this notion), the way in which the question of the sign in his last teaching was another revolution that made possible to reformulate the psychoanalytic praxis and the conception of real that includes jouissance. From these conceptual shifts, the psychoanalytic interpretation, at this moment of Lacan´s teaching, leads to the speaking body and jouissance as its meaning.
